The young Gandaki Province opener became the fastest player to reach 1000 runs in the history of the Men's Prime Minister Cup, achieving the milestone in just 25 matches.
Kumal reached the landmark during the 27th match against Koshi Province at the Narayani Cricket Ground in Birgunj. Batting first for Gandaki, he scored a patient yet significant 102 runs off 141 balls (8 fours), bringing up his maiden century in the ongoing PM Cup 2025/26 season.
He was eventually run out in the final over, but by then the record was already secured. Gandaki Province posted a competitive total of 227/7 in 50 overs, with Bipin Khatri remaining unbeaten on 76.
